No more jio free call because,

Have to charge for non-jio outgoing.

   6 paisa / minute charged

Due to the undergoing regulatory policy changes for mobile-call-related charges, Jio is compelled to recover IUC charge for  mobile voice calls.

W.e.f. your next recharge, post 10th October, all calls to NON-JIO mobile numbers will be charged at 6 paise/minute. You will have the option to select a suitable IUC TOP-UP voucher starting at Rs 10, that can be used to make such non-Jio calls. This recovery of IUC will continue only until the IUC charge is made zero by TRAI.

To compensate our customers for the cost of these additional IUC top-ups, we will offer additional 1 GB of data for every 10-rupee spent, ABSOLUTELY FREE.

Jio is determined to stand by its users and continues to provide free calls on Jio’s network. To continue enjoying the benefits of free calling, you may invite others to our Jio family.

  • What is IUC
Interconnect Usage Charge or IUC is a cost paid by one mobile telecom operator to another, when its customers make outgoing mobile calls to the other operator’s customers. These calls between two different networks are known as mobile off-net calls. IUC charges are fixed by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and are currently at 6 paise / minute.

  • Why is Jio charging me 6 paise per minute for offnet mobile calls?

1. Let us understand this issue in detail:
(i) TRAI, has repeatedly since 2011, affirmed its stance that the IUC charges should be brought down to Zero.

(ii) After a comprehensive review of the IUC regime through a transparent and elaborate consultation process in 2016, TRAI confirmed that IUC for mobile calls will be ZERO from 1st January 2020.

(iii) This step of TRAI ensured that the new ZERO-IUC regime would:
A. Encourage operators to invest in new technology and bring down the cost of voice services close to nil
B. Provide regulatory predictability and enable service providers to plan their networks and businesses accordingly
C. Allow operators to launch more innovative and customer friendly tariff offerings

(iv) Relying on the repeated stance of TRAI and the amendment already made to the regulations reducing the IUC to Zero, Jio continued to pay IUC from its own resources to Airtel and Vodafone-Idea etc. while offering free voice to its customers. So far, in the last three years Jio has paid nearly Rs.13,500 crore as NET IUC charges to the other operators.

(v) Citing traffic asymmetry as the only ground in the recently floated consultation paper, TRAI has reopened the closed chapter on IUC

(vi) The consultation paper has created Regulatory uncertainty and therefore Jio has been compelled, most reluctantly and unavoidably, to recover this regulatory charge of 6 paise per minute for all off-net mobile voice calls so long as IUC charges exist.
So, for all recharges done by Jio customers starting today, calls made to other mobile operators will be charged at the prevailing IUC rate of 6 paise / minute through IUC top-up vouchers till such time that TRAI moves to Zero termination charge regime. Presently, this date is 1st January 2020.

(vii) Nevertheless, Jio stands firm on its commitment to offer the highest value to its customers, and there is no 6 paise charge on:
A. all Jio to Jio calls;
B. all incoming calls;
C. Jio to landline calls; and
D. calls made using WhatsApp or FaceTime and similar platforms.

(viii) Additionally, Jio will provide additional data entitlement of equivalent value to the IUC top-up voucher. This will ensure no increase in tariff for customers.

(ix) The following top-up vouchers shall be available for customers to suit their requirements:

  • Can you explain the issue in a little more detail?

a. Relying on the repeated stance of TRAI and the amendment already made to the regulations reducing the IUC to Zero, Jio continued to pay IUC from its own resources to Airtel and Vodafone-Idea etc. while offering free voice to its customers. So far, in the last three years Jio has paid nearly Rs.13,500 crore as NET IUC charges to the other operators.
b. Unfortunately, after the above order in 2017, while the incumbent operators reduced voice tariffs for their 4G customers, they continued to charge exorbitant tariffs to their 40 crore 2G customers, and in fact increased the tariffs for voice calls to around Rs. 1.50/ minute. They also charge a minimum of Rs 500 / GB for data from their 2G customers.

c. The price differential of free voice on Jio network and exorbitantly high tariffs on 2G networks causes the 40 crore 2G customers of Airtel and Vodafone-Idea to give missed calls to Jio customers. Jio network receives 25 to 30 crore missed calls on a daily basis.

d. This huge missed call phenomena converts the incoming calls to Jio into outgoing calls from Jio to other operators. The 25 to 30 crore missed calls per day should have resulted in 65 to 75 crore minutes of incoming traffic to Jio. Instead, the call back made by the Jio customers results in 65 to 75 crore minutes of outgoing traffic.

e. But for the missed calls due to tariff differential, the offnet voice traffic is already symmetrical now for Jio. It is being made asymmetric by the other operators by keeping their 2G voice tariffs high.

f. Citing such traffic asymmetry as the only ground in the recently floated consultation paper, TRAI has reopened the closed chapter on IUC, which has already been made zero with effect from 1st January, 2020. The amendment to the IUC Regulations in 2017 was after considerable deliberations and consultations. In this background the consultation paper has created Regulatory uncertainty and therefore Jio has been compelled, most reluctantly and unavoidably, to recover this regulatory charge of 6 paise per minute for all off-net mobile voice calls so long as IUC charges exist.

g. So, for all recharges done by Jio customers, calls made to other mobile operators will be charged at the prevailing IUC rate of 6 paise / minute through IUC top-up vouchers till such time that TRAI moves to Zero termination charge regime. Presently, this date is 1st January 2020.

  •   What is the validity of this IUC Top-Up?
a. To ensure our customers remain the beneficiary of every tariff & scheme, the IUC top-up pack does not have any validity
b. That is, you can top-up your account and retain this balance till you want
c. This balance gets deducted only when you make an outgoing non-Jio mobile call or any other relevant service

How can you reset your mind ?

How can you reset your mind ?

How can you reset your mind ?

Sometimes you may find yourself stuck in a rut, which is both frustrating and mind-numbing. If you’re in such a situation, it could be an indication that you need to reset your mind. This will help you set realistic goals for yourself and enable you to lead a fulfilling life. Before getting to the point as to how you can reprogram your mind, it is important to first understand how the mind works.

In colloquial terms, the words mind and brain may be used interchangeably, but the two are in fact not the same. While the brain is a physical organ, the mind can be described as a virtual entity present within each cell of our body and extended to minimum 2 inches outside the body. Mind is more like a collection of thoughts, emotions, imagination and memories. When compared to a computer, the brain acts as the hardware while the mind is the software within it.
The three states of mind
The mind can be categorized into three states:
  1. 1.Conscious: Actions for which you need to make an effort and think about what you are doing are said to be performed by the conscious mind.
  2. 2.Subconscious: The subconscious mind refers to the information that is accessible to you when needed and otherwise not something you pay attention to. For example, when walking down the road to your house, your mind subconsciously creates landmarks.
  3. 3.Unconscious: The unconscious mind consists largely of primitive instincts and memories from early childhood that may not be easily recalled.  It also contains memories from your past lives. has been proved by the father of modern hypnotherapy, Dr. Brian Weiss. Thus, hypnotherapy under supervision is a great tool for resettres yourmind. Further, embedding positive cognitive scripts/suggestions through hypnosis helps with it.  A majority of our daily functions are controlled by the unconscious mind and the memories stored here are responsible for many decisions that we make based on beliefs.

Here are three easy tips to help you make your unconscious mind more efficient.
  1. MeditationMeditation not only calms the mind and reduces stress, but can also help train the unconscious mind. Meditation helps increase your ability to concentrate on an activity and achieve the desired level of mental focus. This, in turn, helps develop new ideas and increases your belief in yourself.
  2. Visualize what you want to achieve: Merely telling yourself that you want to do better is not enough. You need to set a goal for yourself and visualize it to begin working towards it. For example - create a visual board of the type of house you would like to live in, the lifestyle and the job you would like to have. In a nutshell, be specific about what you want and avoid generalized visions.
  3. Hypnotherapy: Hypnotherapy is a safe, brief and effective way to deal with many emotional and anxiety-related issues. It enables you to deal with your own mental challenges and blocks so that you can build on your strengths and take control of your life.
